I purchased my first computer in 1983. I've owned IBMs, Compaqs, and Dells. In 1983 I joined the Ann Arbor, Michigan, Computer Users Group, and have been providing advice to thousands of computer users since that time. My first PC was an IBM PC with 256KB (no, that's not a typo) of RAM, 2 5 1/4 floppy drives, and a monochrome screen. Modem was 300bps (versus today's 56,000). And we used WordStar on a floppy for word processing, with an 80 character per second dot matrix printer... Yes, times have changed. I'm an active contributor on online forums, providing free assistance over 300 times per month at no charge to computer users worldwide. I've also provided insights to leading experts. Locally (Wilmington, DE area) I run a side business of upgrading computers and getting people out of jams (viruses, new hard drives, memory upgrades), and basically understanding how their computers work. That's in addition to being a fulltime Direct Marketing Consultant. Email me with any questions, and enjoy your PC. Thank you. - Rick |
